Our WEC Heavy Machining division has over 15 years’ experience delivering subcontract large machining services to customers across the UK. With the ability to machine parts up to 20 metres long, 5 metres in diameter and over 20,000kg in weight, we are equipped to support some of the most demanding engineering projects in the country.
We have invested £10 million into a purpose-built 60,000 sq. ft. heavy machining and nuclear fabrication facility, significantly increasing our capacity and strengthening our position as a leading UK heavy machining specialist.

Our Heavy Machining facility is equipped with a powerful line-up of 6 x Large CNC machine centres, delivering 30,000 available spindle hours per year, designed for oversized components, heavy fabrications and long-bed milling requirements. We can also offer large diameter CNC turning for components up to 3.8 metres in length and 950mm in diameter.
In addition to our heavy machining capability, WEC Machining operates more than 40 CNC machining centres and lathes, allowing us to support smaller machining requirements including CNC milling, CNC turning and sliding head turning.
