RECENT INVESTMENT

New 60,000 sq ft Heavy Machining and Nuclear Fabrication facility

Construction of our new 60,000 sq. ft. heavy machining and nuclear fabrication facility in Blackburn is nearing completion, marking a major milestone in our ongoing expansion. The development will be the largest subcontract machining facility in Europe, supporting key sectors including nuclear, defence, offshore and general engineering. The site has been equipped with six large CNC machining centres capable of handling components up to a huge 30 metres in length and 5 metres in diameter, significantly expanding our existing capabilities by a vast amount. The project is also creating 60 new jobs, including 10 machining apprentices, and will provide a strong boost to the local economy through increased employment, skills development and supply chain opportunities.

KANBAN BENEFITS

The Benefits of Kitting

The process of kitting is used by manufacturing companies as a way of reducing material handling and overall processing times while improving efficiency on the production line. By grouping individual components together in advance, kits are issued directly at the point of use, helping to streamline assembly operations. This reduces operator movement, minimises searching time for parts, and helps maintain a more organised workflow. As a result, machine downtime is reduced and productivity is improved through immediate and reliable parts availability.
