WEC Machining Invests in a New Correa Axia CNC Milling Machine

We are excited to announce that our latest investment is now fully commissioned and running at our WEC Machining facility in Blackburn, Lancashire, with operator training currently in progress.

Our new Correa Axia moving column CNC milling machine boasts a capacity of 12.5m x 3m x 1.5m and can handle parts weighing up to 20,000kg.

This £1 million investment in cutting-edge large and heavy machining technology strengthens our position as the UK's leading precision engineering company.

This new addition enhances our already impressive machinery lineup, which includes two 11.5m x 1.5m x 2.5m Correa Axia machines and an 8m x 1.5m x 2m Asquith Butler, supported by over 40 CNC machining centers and lathes. To maximise productivity, our facility has undergone a full refurbishment with a new layout designed around this investment.

Steve Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive Officer of WEC Machining said "Investing in the very latest technology is what enables us to retain our competitive edge for large & heavy machining jobs and add value to our customers' supply chains."

This major addition to our large machining lineup highlights our commitment to delivering improved lead times for our customers while strengthening our position as one of the UK’s leading large machining operations. Continuing to invest in state-of-the-art machinery to increase capacity has played a key role in our ongoing success and growth.
